Helix Test: Effective Sterilization Control for Hollow Bodies

Helix Test is an advanced control tool for sterilization of hollow bodies, such as those found in medical devices, surgical instruments, and dental equipment. This test is designed to detect any failures in sterilization cycles, particularly regarding steam penetration within complex cavities. Thanks to its precision, the Helix test identifies issues that may go unnoticed with the use of conventional chemical indicators, allowing for a safer and more effective sterilization.

How the Helix Test Works

The Helix Test is used to verify proper sterilization within hollow-shaped devices and instruments, such as tubes, syringes, and cannulas. These devices are particularly difficult to fully sterilize, as steam may not penetrate evenly into the narrower and more complex cavities.

• Steam Penetration Control: The helical device (tube) is placed inside the hollow body during the sterilization cycle. This test ensures that steam actually reaches inside the cavity, covering all areas of the device.
• Failure Detection: Helix indicators are highly sensitive and detect failures in the sterilization cycle much earlier than other chemical indicators, ensuring early diagnosis of any problems in the sterilization process.
