VALIDOLINE Spores: Spore Kit for Biological Control of Sterilization

VALIDOLINE SPORE is a spore kit for the biological control of sterilization cycles with saturated steam. Each package contains 20 vials of spores, ideal for monitoring the effectiveness of sterilization in autoclaves. This biological control system is perfect for ensuring that sterilization cycles at 121°C and 134°C have been performed correctly, without the need for sophisticated laboratory tests.

Simple and Reliable Biological Control System

The biological test VALIDOLINE SPORE is designed to simplify the sterilization control process. It does not require complex tools or special analyses: just follow a series of practical steps to obtain a clear and reliable result. The bacterial spores are inoculated on a paper support, contained in a glass vial, which includes a sterile culture medium and a pH indicator. This system is suitable for all types of autoclaves, making it extremely versatile and useful in various professional contexts.

How the VALIDOLINE SPORE Biological Test Works

The biological control process with VALIDOLINE SPORE is simple and practical, divided into a few fundamental steps:

  • Test Preparation: Insert the spore vial into the sterilization chamber, even if there is already a load present. The vial must be exposed to the sterilization cycle along with the other instruments.
  • Execution of the Sterilization Cycle: Perform the sterilization cycle as usual (at 121°C or 134°C). Once the cycle is complete, carefully remove the vial, as it will still be hot and under pressure.
  • Activation of the Vial: Allow the vial to cool for about 10 minutes. Then, activate it by pressing it with your fingers, always keeping the vial in an upright position. The chemical indicator on the label will change color, from blue to black.
  • Incubation and Control: Place the vial in a biological incubator at 57°C for 24 hours, along with an unprocessed but activated test vial. After 12 hours, check for any bacterial growth.

Interpretation of Results

If the biological control vial shows signs of bacterial growth after 24 hours of incubation, it means that the sterilization cycle was not effective. Conversely, if no growth is observed, the cycle was performed correctly and the instruments have been safely sterilized. This monitoring system is a reliable and simple method to ensure that sterilization occurs correctly and that there are no health risks to patients.

Packaging and Availability

The VALIDOLINE SPORE kit is available in a package containing 20 vials of spores, providing a sufficient number of tests for various sterilization cycles. It is an economical and practical product, ideal for clinics, dental offices, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities that require precise and effective sterilization control.
