Optilene® 2/0 Polypropylene Sutures: Precision and Safety for Advanced Surgery
Optilene® 2/0 sutures by B. Braun are the ideal choice for delicate surgical procedures. Made from monofilament polypropylene and featuring a distinctive blue color, these sutures ensure optimal visibility during the procedure. They are particularly used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurosurgery, due to their ability to minimize the risk of damage to surrounding tissues.
Advantages and Technical Features
Optilene® 2/0 offers excellent glide, minimizing the inflammatory response in tissues and promoting rapid healing. The high tensile strength and elasticity of the suture allow for stable retention during the healing process, adapting to the body's natural movements without compromising the knot.
Product Details
Each suture has a length of 45 cm and is equipped with a DS24 triangular cutting needle 3/8 circle, ideal for delicate procedures. The suture is non-absorbable and sterilized with ethylene oxide, ensuring maximum safety for both the surgeon and the patient.
Main Applications of Optilene®
The Optilene® 2/0 suture is indicated for a variety of delicate and advanced surgeries, including:
Note: Optilene® by Bbraun is equivalent to the suture Prolene by Ethicon/Premilene Bbraun.
(*) The Premilene 6/0 Soft suture features a needle with a cylindrical circle and short cutting tip, making it gentler and particularly suitable for the eyelid area.
