Polyurethane foam dressing

MEDICINALING POLICY

It is a sterile dressing of non-adhesive polyurethane foam or with adhesive edge. It is used for treating moderately or strongly exudatory skin lesions such as decubitate wounds, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, skin transplant sites and surgical wounds and postoperative post. Polyurethane foam dressing maintains an optimal wet microenvironment for wound healing. The dressing absorbs the excess exudate and keeps it without letting it spread laterally with the risk of macerating the perilesional skin. The excessed, thanks to the high permeability of polyurethane foam, evaporates allowing the dressing to absorb it again. The properties of the upper membrane of waterproofness to liquids and bacteria isolate the wound environment from external contamination. The dressing is soft and conformable to provide maximum comfort to the patient.
