Main Features of the Piuma UP4 Mattress

The alternating pressure mattress consists of 20 interchangeable elements made of Nylon + TPU material, ensuring high resistance, waterproofing, and good breathability. The overall height of the mattress is 20.3 cm, with a design engineered to fit perfectly on the bed without the need for an additional mattress. Its innovative Cell-on-Cell technology allows the section of elements to be divided into two individual modules, ensuring that the lower part remains constantly inflated, thus preventing the "bottom-out" phenomenon and ensuring continuous safety in case of power interruption.

Mattress Functionality

The first 4 elements of the mattress are in static mode and serve as a head cushion, providing stable and comfortable support for the patient.

The remaining sections are divided into 2 alternating sections with 2-way operation, optimizing pressure distribution and reducing the risk of pressure ulcer formation.

The padded cover made of Nylon/PU is biocompatible, waterproof, and breathable, and has been tested according to European regulations for fire reaction. Additionally, it features a zipper on all four sides, allowing for easy removal and cleaning.

The cover is designed to be durable and easy to maintain, ensuring hygiene and longevity over time.

Fixing and Safety System

The mattress is secured to the bed using the provided fixing straps, ensuring a stable position during use. There are also cable eyelets for optimal cable management, ensuring greater safety and order in the care environment.

Compressor Functionality

The digital compressor of the Piuma UP4 kit is equipped with pressure and cycle duration adjustment. The compressor manages the alternating cycle of the mattress elements, promoting the prevention of pressure ulcers through the alternation of pressure points. Additionally, the cycle duration can be adjusted between 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes for complete customization based on the patient's needs. The visual and audible alarm system alerts in real-time to any low-pressure situations, while the interchangeable air filter ensures optimal compressor operation.

One of the most useful functions is the static mode, which allows the alternating system to be locked and transforms the mattress into a regular static support, ideal for moments when the patient requires a more stable position without alternating movement.
