The Hegar 150 mm Straight Needle Holder – Heavy Pattern is designed for suturing thicker or tougher tissues, with threads up to 3/0, providing maximum stability and control during surgical procedures.

The heavy pattern allows for a firm grip even on thicker threads and tough tissues, making the Hegar needle holder suitable for general, orthopedic, and surgical procedures on adult patients.

General surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery, and dentistry.

Reconditioning and sterilization

Manual cleaning:

  • Immersion with chemical disinfection for 15 minutes (e.g., B. Braun Stabimed 2% solution) with brushing.

Mechanical cleaning:

  • Alkaline washing with thermal disinfection at 90°C for 5 minutes according to the thermal disinfectant program.

Validated sterilization:

  • Fractionated steam under vacuum at 134°C with a holding time of 5 minutes.

Note:

  • Instruments with joints or friction surfaces must be lubricated before each sterilization cycle to prevent corrosion.
