The MAYO straight dissection scissors are robust surgical instruments designed for cutting and dissecting denser tissues.

The heavy pattern design ensures greater solidity and durability, while the chamfered blades provide controlled and progressive cutting. The blunt/blunt tips allow for safe manipulation of tissues, reducing the risk of accidental injuries.

Cleaning and disinfection

Manual treatment:

  • Disinfection by immersion and cleaning with a brush
  • Chemical disinfection: 15 minutes with Stabimed 2% solution
  • Drying: not applicable

Mechanical treatment:

  • Alkaline mechanical cleaning with thermal disinfection
  • Thermal disinfection: 90°C for 5 minutes
  • Drying according to the program of the thermal disinfectant (Digit 4 RDS Material)

Sterilization

Validated steam process:

  • Fractionated vacuum at 134°C
  • Holding time: 5 minutes

Technical note:

To prevent friction corrosion, articulated instruments or those with metal surfaces subject to rubbing must be lubricated before each sterilization cycle.
