Novosyn® 3/0: Absorbable Suture for Surgical Procedures

Novosyn® 3/0 by Bbraun is a high-quality absorbable suture made from a blend of polyglycolic acid and lactic acid (90/10). Its medium absorption profile provides secure and lasting support to the wound during the initial stages of healing, before naturally degrading in the body.

Composition and Structure of the Thread

Novosyn® 3/0 is made with a multifilament structure that ensures superior handling during the procedure. The coating of glycolic acid and lactic acid helps reduce the inflammatory response, while the synthetic composition promotes controlled and safe absorption.

• Sizes: from USP 2 (EP 5) to USP 8/0 (EP 0.4)
• Composition: Polyglycolic acid and lactic acid (90/10)
• Coating: Glycolic acid and lactic acid (35/65), calcium stearate
• Absorption: Complete by hydrolysis in 56-70 days
• Residual Tensile Strength: 50% after 21 days from implantation
